For Astep ApS, an Italian-Danish reality with solid roots in design, Terenzi Srl brought to light the work of a great name. Elegance and versatility cross the time with this lamp of 1951 designed in several versions by Vittoriano Viganò. All the lamp variants are a re-edition of the past and iconic design, industrialized with cutting-edge, contemporary technology.
The reflector of VV Cinquanta is made of aluminum, in the original colors white, black, yellow, red and blue. For the floor lamp the special Mondrian version is available. This model rises gently on a thin steel frame made of black steel. The reflector is mounted on an articulated stem which, rotating and tilting, allows various lighting scenarios. The suspension model is the most complex, made with a double stem; it is equipped with two reflectors, one conical, with a more closed diffusion and one equal to that of the other versions. Through a variety of adjustments it is possible to obtain a wide variety of diffused and concentrated lighting. The wall version, on the other hand, is mounted on a brass support which, thanks to a double rotation joint, allows a wide adjustment of the lampshade and the reflector to rotate 350 degrees and be angled of 160. The Twin variant is an elegant two-arm wall lamp, with light but defined lines, with different lighting compositions. Mounted on a bracket, the two brass stems extend in opposite directions. The reflectors can be angled and rotated to simultaneously provide indirect and direct lighting.
Studying some original examples of the time, Terenzi Srl created the templates, in order to produce then the CAD models and to engineer the lamps with the current technologies. The machines and processes involved were: laser cutting, plate turning and bending of CNC tubes and combined punching/bending technology. The materials used were mainly brass, aluminum and painted galvanized steel. The final assembly was particularly accurate and monitored.
