Dark as the night but full of emotion: under the light of the street lamps the skyline of the city stands out clear against a sky at dusk. This is the image and the atmosphere that we wanted to recreate starting from a metal plate.
Each Skylight is unique and unrepeatable. From a creation by Alessandro Giust, Terenzi Srl createad Skylight which, starting from a metal plate, obtains the shape of Paris, making it easy to recognize what accompanies our city view.
Paris is a city that has been gone through different eras and that has been crossed by different eras and its characteristics are many and different: this is why Skylight also follows a growing process that is transversal, has different styles and different times, mixes testimonies with each other, of past grandeur, keeping close to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of the mythical Montmartre district, the bohemian hub in the Belle Époque, and Notre Dame, the European Gothic cathedral par excellence; to “disconnect” it interposes a “contemporary” interlude, with the Tour Montparnasse which has become the symbol of the district; two works therefore that refer to Egypt, the Obélisque de Louxor and the Pyramide completed in 1989 in front of the Louvre, which testify to the internationalism of Paris, to its universalistic vocation; the Eiffel Tower built in wrought iron for the Paris Expo of 1889, now the best known contemporary building; the Arc de Triomphe built by Napoleon after Austerlitz; Skylight closes with a contemporary Paris, with the tall towers of the La Défense district: the Tours Société Générale, conceived at the end of the 90s to house large banking groups, and the Tour First skyscraper.
Skylight is a luminous object with an intimate, soft atmosphere; the LED light is powered via USB input; for the silhouette of a city like Paris, the lighting symbolizes for practicality the romanticism of a certain elegant Belle Époque climate, but above all "the Age of Enlightenment" which, inspired by France, changed the history of Europe and the world with his ideas, giving life to "modern" thought; on the other hand, the two lampposts placed at the ends of the silhouette remind us that the French capital was equipped with this lighting system already centuries ago, precisely since June 1825... The characteristic of Skylight is to bring together different phases of the history of France and world in a prêt-à-porter shape that is a historical sequence in which different ways of understanding elegance, architecture, urbanism itself are included.
Through innovative technology and millimeter precision it is possible to realize ideas that start from a simple draft: starting from the metal plate, the outline of the city of Paris is obtained...
For the procedure to obtain the shape, Terenzi Production follows the traditional steps of laser cutting and folding: attention and attention to detail during each phase are guaranteed by the Quality Control.
