Planium deals with surfaces, i.e. metal floors and walls with dry laying. It was born in 2007 as second company of our Group: in this case the use of metal is crucial, both for a technical and aesthetic choice. The intent is to offer emotional surfaces, unique in their kind, made of natural, recyclable materials, with attractive beauty and performance characteristics.
Metal has a primary aesthetic function and assumes, through the colors of the textures, a strong value in architectural projects, as well as for Design. This applies to the cold Steel, either stainless, oxidized or Calamine, and to the pure Copper metal which, with Tin and Zinc, forms the precious Bronze and Brass alloys, with golden colors. However, metal also has a practical function, not only decorative. Copper for example, a pure metal that brings us to the memory of the ancient peoples of the classical age, is also a great conductor, is ductile, has strong mechanical resistance.
Metal, a material of various qualities, is the raw and primary material of Planium projects; it creates exclusive and emotional architectural spaces, unique and personalized floor and wall coverings. It is one of the oldest, natural and recyclable materials, but also contemporary par excellence, suitable for underlining the shapes of urban environments.
Metal is subjected in Terenzi Srl to the processes of laser cutting, bending and conformation. Its versatility has made it the protagonist of very detailed and complex architectural projects made by Planium, with great appeal: just think of the industrial style created for the Agostini Museum, the metal foils created for the Ducasse sur Seine ceiling, the anodized aluminum designed for the redevelopment of a nineteenth-century building in via Cantù/Orefici in Milan, in Cordusio.
However, there are also more specific treatments.
Calamine is the name of the steel oxide which is formed through a "thermal shock": the lamination consists in decreasing the thickness.
When, on the other hand, you want to obtain oxidized steel, the process that takes place is electrolysis. The textures go through different processes, also depending on the aesthetic result you want to achieve. Brushing is a process performed using specific bristles; the satinization, to obtain more articulated aesthetic textures, is carried out using abrasive tools; to obtain the impression of a Canvas on the metal, however, a double satin finish is made, orthogonal.
The anodizing of aluminum, which allows it to change color by adapting to chromatic and creative projects, is followed and coordinated by Planium as prime contractor.
