In Digital Habits’ Cromatica, technology and modernity are realized in a true multimedia hub. Cromatica is a concept, rather than a simple object. It develops from the needs of the contemporary world to have a multifunctional design, that can surprise.
The dimensions of Cromatica are 7x10.7x30 cm. The object is printed in plastic, almost like a small architecture with sharp edges and reduced draft angles. Plastic has been chosen for its good acoustics and optimal lighting technology. Through the help of a telephone or a computer connected to the network it is possible to program the color, the intensity of the light, the diffusion of the music. On the body of the product a USB port is inserted, which recharges smartphone and tablet, if necessary. Cromatica works with the Arduino circuit and it is activated quickly by touching its surface. By connecting to an external PC you can become part of a community and receive regular updates.
In the Terenzi Srl factories the idea of this open-source computer was realized, combining light, music and emotion. High quality materials were chosen for molds and high fluency ABS with white liquid paint and laser engraving for the body. The workings used for the construction of the equipment are milling, wire and plunge EDM. The chassis is composed of two parts obtained by thermoplastic injection molding. The assembly of the lamp is done manually with quality checks on components, electronic heart and final aesthetics.
